Capability checker
Will your part fit our processes?
Enter the main sizes of your part for an indicative answer: the likely process, the HPDC machine size band and suitable alloys. An engineer confirms everything at drawing review.
Your indicative result will appear here.
How the checker decides
The rules behind the result
| Process | Part weight, indicative | Main walls, indicative | Size limit | Alloys |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| High pressure die casting | About 20 g to 15 kg | 1.2 to 8 mm | Machines 80 to 1,250 t; the largest has 1,100 × 1,100 mm tie bar spacing | LM2, LM6, LM9, LM13, LM20, LM24, ADC10, ADC12, AlSi132 |
| Gravity die casting | About 200 g to 25 kg | 3 to 15 mm | Dies up to 450 × 600 mm | LM4, LM6, LM9, LM13, LM25 |
The machine size band is estimated from the projected area of the part plus an allowance for runners and overflows, at a typical cavity pressure. Real machine choice also depends on the die layout, number of cavities and alloy. Pressure tight parts need leak testing, which we arrange through a partner; impregnation is not available in house today. Low pressure die casting is in development and is not offered yet.
