About Alcast

Where is Alcast and what do you make?

Alcast Technologies is in the MIDC industrial area of Satara, Maharashtra, India, about 2 km from the Mumbai–Bangalore highway (NH48). We make aluminium high pressure and gravity die castings, supplied as-cast, machined, finished and inspected.

How long have you been in business?

Since 2009. The company was founded by a metallurgical engineer and today runs four operational manufacturing units.

What is your production capacity?

Seven cold-chamber HPDC machines from 80 to 1,250 tonnes, plus tilting and horizontal gravity casting. Melt capacity is 1,800 tonnes a year today, expandable to 2,700 tonnes. Clamping force (tonnes) and annual capacity (tonnes) are different measures.

Do you offer low pressure die casting?

Not yet. Low pressure die casting is in development: a 20,000 sq.ft plant is secured and machines are under negotiation. We will publish its capability only when it is commissioned.

Processes & parts

What size of part can you cast?

High pressure die casting covers roughly 20 g to 15 kg, with walls from 1.2 to 8 mm. Gravity die casting covers roughly 200 g to 25 kg, with walls from 3 to 15 mm. These are indicative ranges; suitability is confirmed for each part at drawing review.

Should my part be HPDC or gravity cast?

HPDC usually suits thin-walled parts at medium to high volume. Gravity casting usually suits thicker, denser or pressure-tight parts at lower volume. We recommend a route at quotation and explain why. See our HPDC vs gravity guide.

Which alloys do you cast?

HPDC: LM2, LM6, LM9, LM13, LM20, LM24, ADC10, ADC12 and AlSi-132. Gravity: LM4, LM6, LM9, LM13 and LM25. Customer-specific alloys can be arranged on request.

Can you machine and finish the castings?

Yes. CNC turning and VMC milling, multi-head drilling and tapping, trimming, fettling, 7-tank ultrasonic cleaning, shot blasting and sub-assembly are in-house. 4th-axis CNC, powder coating and plating are arranged through long-standing partners.

Quality & documentation

Are you certified?

We hold ISO 9001:2015, and the certificate is available on request. IATF 16949 is a target for March 2027; we are not IATF certified today.

How do you control quality in production?

Spectrometer analysis of every alloy batch, rotary degassing with density index checks, in-house X-ray where required, first article inspection on every new tool, 100% visual inspection and air gauging of critical dimensions on every part. Dimensions are measured at the 20 °C reference temperature.

Can you do leak testing and CMM inspection?

Yes, on demand through specialist partners. Tell us the requirement at enquiry so it is included in the quotation. Vacuum impregnation is planned but not yet available.

Which approval documents can you provide?

APQP, PPAP, ISIR or first article reports, PFMEA, control plans, process flow diagrams, inspection reports and material test certificates, to the scope your project requires.

Tooling & trials

How long does new tooling take?

Typically 6–10 weeks from a signed-off 3D model, depending on die size, complexity and cavity count. Some simpler tools can be ready in 2–4 weeks.

Who owns the tooling?

You do. Your tooling remains your property throughout, and NDAs are respected on all development work.

Can you run a T0 trial on our die?

Yes. We run T0 and development trials on our 500, 1,000 and 1,250 tonne production machines, from 25 pieces upward, with recorded process parameters and feedback on fill, venting, ejection and flash. T0 trials.

Quotes & ordering

What should I send for a quotation?

A drawing or 3D model, annual quantity, alloy if specified, finish and any critical features or tests. A description is enough to start a conversation. See the RFQ checklist.

How fast will you reply?

An engineer replies within 24 hours, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm IST every day, with a quotation or the questions needed to prepare one.

What is the minimum order quantity?

It depends on process and tooling. Gravity casting generally suits lower volumes than HPDC; development runs start from 25 pieces.

Which file formats can I upload?

PDF, STEP, IGES, DWG, DXF, Parasolid, SAT, images or ZIP, one file up to 7 MB on the quote form. For larger files, email us or ask for a secure upload link.

Export

Do you supply overseas customers?

Yes. We hold a valid export licence, pack to export standard by default, and prepare documents to customer and destination requirements. Some customer relationships have run for more than 15 years.

How is shipping arranged?

We can work with your freight forwarder or arrange shipping ourselves. Tell us your preferred Incoterm in the enquiry. JNPT seaport is about 245 km from the plant.

Can I talk to someone in US hours?

Our US number +1 857 919 4793 also works on WhatsApp for quick questions and part photos. Email is best for drawings.
