For UK buyers
Aluminium die castings for UK manufacturers, made in India
High pressure and gravity die castings, machined, finished and inspected in one plant, shipped to your door. With the India–UK trade agreement now in force, sourcing from India is simpler to cost and plan.
Why work with Alcast
One supplier from casting to finished part
Alcast has made aluminium die castings in Satara, Maharashtra, since 2009, and some customer relationships have run for more than 15 years. We cast, trim, machine, finish and inspect under one roof across four operational units, so you deal with one supplier and one quality system from raw casting to a ready-to-fit part.
For UK buyers we work to the specifications you already use: BS EN 1706 alloy designations alongside the LM grades still common on British drawings, ISO 8062-3 casting tolerances, and dimensional measurement at the 20 °C reference temperature.
What has changed for UK importers
The India–UK trade agreement and UK CBAM
India–UK trade agreement
The UK–India Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement reduces or removes UK import tariffs on many Indian industrial goods. To claim the preferential rate, goods must meet the agreement's rules of origin and come with the right proof of origin.
Tell us at order stage that you will claim the preference, and we prepare export documentation to your broker's requirements.
UK carbon border adjustment (CBAM)
The UK CBAM covers aluminium. Importers are liable and pay based on the emissions embedded in the goods, using actual or default values.
We will work with you or your adviser on the production data your return needs. Our CBAM guide explains what to ask for.
Duty and scope
The tariff rate, and whether CBAM applies, depend on how your part is classified. A general aluminium article and a finished machine part can fall under different codes.
Ask your customs broker to confirm the code for each part before you compare landed costs.
How an export order runs
From your drawing to your dock
A realistic plan for a new part. Repeat orders only need the production and freight steps.
- Enquiry and DFM review
Send a drawing and annual volume. We reply within 24 hours with a quotation or the questions we need answered first.
- Tooling
Typically 6 to 10 weeks from a signed-off 3D model, depending on die size and complexity; some simpler tools take 2 to 4 weeks. Your tooling remains your property.
- Samples by air
T0 trial, dimensional layout and first article inspection. Samples reach you by air in about a week.
- Approval
Your sign-off, plus PPAP, ISIR or FAI as your industry requires.
- Production and dispatch
Series production with 100% visual inspection and air gauging of critical dimensions, then export packing.
- Sea freight
From Nhava Sheva (JNPT), about 245 km from our plant, to UK ports such as Felixstowe, Southampton or London Gateway. Typically four to six weeks port to port.
Shipping times depend on routing and season. We confirm current transit times with your forwarder, or ours, when we plan the first shipment.

Working across time zones
Talk to the people who make your part
We work 8:00 am to 6:00 pm India Standard Time, every day, and reply to every enquiry within 24 hours. India is 4½ hours ahead of the UK in summer and 5½ hours in winter, so our afternoon overlaps your morning, and messages sent at the end of your day are answered by the start of your next one.
Prefer to see the plant first? We can walk you through the shop floor and quality lab on a video call, or host you in Satara, about 120 km from Pune airport.
